Potbelly Stove Restoration
Просмотров 1,4 млн4 месяца назад
This stove was found in a passed relative's garage. When I saw it I instantly new if would be a great restoration video. I didn't realize how badly the cast iron was damaged. There were chunks missing and huge cracks in multiple pieces. Restorations are boring when all you have to do is sandblast and paint, so I knew it would be even more fun if I had to incorporate another technique like brazi...
Badly Rusted Wheelbarrow Restoration
Просмотров 238 тыс.8 месяцев назад
I finally mustered up the courage to restore this old wheelbarrow that had been sitting around. Most of you don’t know this, but my biggest inspiration for making restoration videos was a video by Restoration and Metal where they *restored* a wheelbarrow. Well… this is my tribute to them. This is my first-time doing sheet metal work of any kind so don’t be too harsh. I’ve never welded in patch ...
100 Year Old Vacuum / Carpet Sweeper Restoration (Remaster?)
Просмотров 4,3 млнГод назад
Been working on this restoration for a while. It was challenging and time consuming. Sorry for the large upload gap; I'm still alive. This thing is a marvel of early 20th century engineering. I spent hours trying to find another one made by the same brand online and couldn't find anything. It's a mechanical bellows powered suction carpet brush sweeper. Incorporating actual vacuum technology alo...
Leaky Vintage Floor Jack Restoration (Hein Werner)
Просмотров 6 млнГод назад
My dad has had this car jack for years. He bought it used and apparently the previous owner made some interesting modifications to it... They used to use these things to re-bend vehicle frames back into shape after an accident which put a lot of stress on them. Anyway it was leaking pretty bad and wouldn't lift up a car anymore so I decided I'd rebuild it for him and make a restoration video ou...
Restoring my Grandfather's Old Hatchet
Просмотров 454 тыс.2 года назад
I found this when were moving out of our old shop and into the new one. It's my grandfather's old hatchet that was sitting back by all of the gardening equipment. The handle was about to fall off and the stand/holder thing seemed kinda janky to me. Restoring an Old Beat Up Workbench
Просмотров 1,5 млн2 года назад
My dad found a few of these used Lista workbenches for sale and knew they would be a nice addition to the new shop if we restored them, refinished the wood and, repainted the metal. I decided I wanted to restore one of them in a video, so I did. In the new shop, I am moving off of the welding bench and onto my own bench (this one) Instagram: Restoration.Station Facebook: facebook....
Stanley Hand Plane Restoration
Просмотров 125 тыс.2 года назад
I found this thing at a flee market for a great price. I've always wanted to restore a Stanley hand plane and this thing seemed like a good introductory plane since it's small and manageable. Apologies to all the Japanning purists. I understand your concern with spray paint regardless of the fact that I'm using a pretty high quality "rattle can" product. If I do something else in the future tha...
Antique IBM Fire Alarm Restoration
Просмотров 469 тыс.2 года назад
I found this Fire Horn/Siren/Alarm thing on the old electronic bay (surprise, surprise) and since I had so much luck with my original fire bell restoration video I thought it would be a good subject for another restoration video. It was sitting on my shelf in a state of disrepair for so long because I didn't know how to recreate the label. I thought about trying to repaint the old label, but it...
Broken Machinist Level Restoration
Просмотров 1,1 млн2 года назад
I wanted one of these Starrett precision machinist levels, but I didn't want to pay over $100 for one. I ended up finding one on eBay with a broken vial that I could easily restore which I thought was the perfect option for me. Also, I got a lathe now which is cool. All I gotta do now is make sure my ways are level because they currently are not... Time to go buy some shims and spend a few hour...
Master Cylinder Restoration/Rebuild
Просмотров 489 тыс.2 года назад
Finally another installment in the Cherokee XJ project. It's been on the back burner a bit since I've been busy trying to set up and move everything into the new shop we're moving into. Don't ever waste your time trying to rebuild a master cylinder like this. The rebuilt part is like $20, so it's not worth the time of going through all this. Just buy a re-manufactured brake master cylinder like...
Crusty Old Step Stool Restoration
Просмотров 1 млн2 года назад
I saw this stool one day while perusing the electronic bay and immediately decided I needed to buy and restore it. I spent way too much money for this hunk of junk, but I have zero regrets. This restoration turned out a lot cooler than I expected when I started. It might be one of the only projects from my restoration videos that I use on a regular basis. I didn't really have a plan going into ...
Cobbling Together a Working Go Kart Engine
Просмотров 79 тыс.2 года назад
Here's the video I promised of me fixing the engine that I showed during my go kart restoration video. Once again the goal was to get it into good working condition and clean it up a bit while spending as little money and time as possible. This isn't really a "restoration" video in my opinion. I'm not really sure what to call it, but I think it came out okay. Instagram: Restoratio...
"Restoring" a Janky Old Go Kart
Просмотров 4,2 млн2 года назад
My dad got this thing for $50 bucks and asked me if I wanted to fix it up.The goal was to restore the go kart for as cheap as possible using supplies we had on hand in the shop if possible. I ended up having to buy a couple things that were broken, but overall I think I achieved the goal. Paint job is 100% Rust-Oleum. Even after all this work, the thing is still a deathtrap with scary handling ...
Vintage Ingersoll Rand Impact Wrench Restoration
Просмотров 961 тыс.2 года назад
My dad found this years ago when someone was throwing it away. He didn't know if it worked or not, but thought it was cool. I decided to take it out and see if it worked and if it didn't work I would try and restore it. Obviously it didn't or I wouldn't have made a video. You could probably say that this restoration video is more of a glorified deep clean, but whatever. Products used in video: ...

Great job man. You still working on your jeep? Loved the axle resto vids.
This is a multiplicity of complexities that inadvertently leads to a simplicity. Love it!
Great job!😊
lolz sand blasting outside on muddy ground.
These are cheap in good condition, so the restoration wasn't viable, but hey, video.
Chill out dude
Awsome job mate
Sears. I forget that they have been around for like over a century.
This is by far the best lil pot belly stove restoration I’ve ever seen! Your attention to detail is spot on and that gold detailing and pin striping is eye catching. Well done my friend, you obviously love your work, it shows! Thank you for taking us along, it was well worth the watch! 👍🏼👍🏼 from this guy✌🏼
You have a special little gentleman!! Love watching his vids ..hello from California USA
That was a amazing job on the Jake 🎉
I can't believe I watched the entire video.........I got hooked
You all are amazing. Thank you for the love and positivity!
It was a pretty restoration, but a lot of work for something that is very common and will not be usable. The brazes might survive without cracking or melting, But that fiberglass repair around the collar is a no-go. That's one of the hottest spots on the stove. So although it looks very nice, and would be good in a museum or something as part of a diorama, I wouldn't use it, and even though it might sell for a pretty penny, there is a risk that it's going to get out there into somebody's house to be used and will burn the house down. I can feel the attorneys lining up around the corner.
Excellent welding and restoration. FYI, in the future may want to drill the ends of your cracks to keep them from traveling. In all, Beautiful restoration.
Mine is pitted way worse! Can i still use it?
17:26 what is that?
2:37 where they sell the third hand? 😂
The brown substance on each part that is cleaned off is tar from exhaled cigarette smoak. As an airline mechanic back in the 1970s it was easy to find a pressurization leak. We just looked for the tar stains. Then they outlawed smoking and airplane maintenance cost went down 7%.
Nice work. But the video could have been shorter as many of the steps are simply repeated.
It wasn't a remaster. This is a restoration. Even if you make new parts yourself like my mechanics does its still technically a restoration
that Looks nuclear
Impresionante trabajo de restauración. Agradezco mucho el video. Salud !
So asking for a hypothetical friend. I have a 60 Chevy C10. I dont believe the truck came with power steering originally. It has an 808 Saginaw box. What's the worst that can happen if only 22 out of the 24 ball bearings make it back in? The are installed every other by color.
Beautiful restoration! Can't help but think of my dear grandmother who must certainly have had one of these in her 1920's household. It would have felt like great progress going from having to take the carpets outdoors for beating to this technologically modern and less physically demanding household device.
Amazing restoration! I’m curious about one thing. Why at 40:00 did you weld those cracks only to remove the welding and fill them with fiberglass and exhaust repair paste?
It's a terrible resto. I expected to see at the end what it looked like before. But all the authenticity is gone. No good polishing, no nickel-plating. The original colors aren't preserved. Next time just paint it pink without disassembly.
Fantástica restauración. Gracias por compartir. Abrazo 🇦🇷
Una bella reliquia!!!!!
Моё почтение. Это невероятная реставрация!
Impecável
20 years ago i bought in a flea market a very similar stove.... Thenk uiu for the video 🙏
Love your work!1Great job!
planty paint
Looked good just after wash
If nothing else, it's preserved history. Thanks for sharing.
Restaurarla ! No creo que se pueda ! Esta bien malita ! 🤔
Use a 4" roller with a gloss sleeve. Roll with minimal pressure over the letters you want to paint. It will save you alot of time 🫡
Man you should see the “special tool “ I made to hold the yoke 😅

how many tetanus shots did you get throuout your whole career of restoring old items
Ton of work. Used H-Ws quite a bit on cars. Didn't realize there was that much to them.
Get hollow ground screwdrivers and stop stripping screws. Gunsmith uses them.
Sand blast is always my favorite part
This carpet sweeper should be placed in a museum. 👏👏
Your mechanic skills are top notch buddy. But respectfully speaking i can't under good conscience call this accurate restoration. Because a accurate restoration is restoring a item or object back to its original pristine from the factory condition.
Nice job! I have an old Porch Glider in about the same shape. I've been wanting to do something better with it for ages, while it just gets worse and worse with time passing. You have inspired me to get off my tookus and get started restoring it, best I can. I have some skills, but your work spurred me to get going! Thank you.

We think of metals as so sturdy, but these pieces were so delicate and friable, it pained me every time one bit the dust!
